A question, if we were to get a sneak peek of season 5 (if it is true they already filmed some things for it) on saturday. Will it be okay to talk about it open in all threads that has to do with the charactersin it? Same thing if we get a mini promo? Or should all the talk be in here?

So I found these post over tumblr today. I really like their idea and I hope they are right because I hope Vecna isn't just the big bad guy in the show. I didn't find him scary at all.

what if the mindflayer is a being that's being controlled by Vecna... Vecna is using his particles to control other people and make them do what he wants but when you hurt the vines and the upside down you hurt "the mindflayer being" that it was neutral until Vecna took control of it

it could be that it was just Will talking but it's the scene right before they start burning the vines and he starts screaming and I thought what if there is a third party here and the mindflayer/the upside down is actually something with a conscience too! also the fact that the portals between the worlds seem to be almost breathing... Yeah lemme be real I think you're onto something and I haven't believed "Vecna/Henry is the only sentient antagonist" at all for a second. I really think the mind flayer is highly likely to be its own entity that isn't dependent on Henry, but co-operates because it's beneficial.

Dustin said the upside down "probably pre-dates the dinosaurs" and we know, this show doesn't often have "throw away lines", Dustin is usually right or at least onto something, and this show's writers are crafty, esp when it comes to important details.

It's plausible Henry just tuned himself to a frequency of function that already existed, he just channeled it. I also think it may contribute to Henry's wraith-like appearance. Think about it.

The S3 MF flesh monster proves some level of necromantic psychic capacity, dead flesh being puppeted in a mountain of biomass.

Henry looks like a walking corpse.

What if Henry did die? What if someone didn't let him?

I also think it's notable that Will and Henry are both shown scratching out fast paced drawings of the Mind Flayer and are given "my family thinks something is inside of me and is very wrong with me" narrative, Victor LITERALLY thought Henry had a demon, which if this is taken as parallel- think about Joyce and how "crazy" she sounded.

This would imply HENRY is a puppet, the Mind Flayer being the true Master of Puppets.

Think about it. Will was under partial control in that scene, implying what about Henry...? Is Henry "gone" like the lab warned Will would be in s2 if they couldn't stop the spread? Did it consume him?

The Mind Flayer seeking humans with notable characteristics that would benefit its goal of escaping containment makes a significant amount of sense.

What did Henry do to get out of the lab? What did El do to get out of the lab? They both found someone "like themself".

So what would a borderline omniscient eldritch entity do to escape a prison? Find like-minded or impressionable puppet brains and bodies.

What if Henry is just like Will, only nobody saved him from the possession, and when he finally died cast into the upside down by El in the lab, the Mind Flayer wouldn't allow it. It needed a foot soldier.

What was that Eddie said about Kas the bloody handed? Ah yes that he's a "general", not the big bad, yes? His one eye and notable hand? They wanted us to realize that's about Henry!
