It's still a 5 hour trip, so I don't get the chances as often as I would like.

The USMNT isn't the best team so if they lose in the round of 16 that is a good result in the world cup. Our USWNT is very good so we're used to them winning.

I really enjoyed the US international was great. I hope it gets Americans into soccer. El Clasico will always get people interested because even here everyone knows Messi and Ronaldo.
I live in Finland.

At least your men's team is able to make it to the World Cup, we don't have the slightest chance. I don't really follow women's football but I know USWNT is really good.

It would be great if it got more people into it. El Clasico is probably the ultimate experience what comes to club football since those teams have the two biggest stars. Probably a lot of people who are not usually so into football were interested in seeing it. Well, everyone who got to go was very lucky.

I understand. But hopefully you get another chance soon.

Yes our women's team has been dominating pretty much since they first formed about 30 years ago. They've won 3 out of 7 world cups and 4 out of 6 Olympic gold medals.

Yeah our men's team has actually gone better than countries like Portugal and England in the World Cup so I'd say that's progress.

That is amazing, total domination.

Being an England supporter I know that World Cups and Euros are pretty much always a disappointment. And Portugal had a bad World Cup in 2014 (Cristiano was not fit). Hope they both do better in the next one! But I remember the US team getting pretty far in the last World Cup, that's good progress.

Some UCL qualications finally being aired here next week so I'm gonna watch those.

Yes though our women's team has been losing more often that we're used to. The last Olympics was a huge disappointment.

I remember Portugal was in the same group as the US in the World Cup. Ronaldo scored a goal to tie it so close to the end. I was so disappointed. My cousin loves Ronaldo so he was cheering when he scored. We were in a group with Germany, Portugal and Ghana.

Oh sorry to hear that. But I guess for neutral fans it's good to have more competition in women's football too.

Your team got to play with some legends then, Ronaldo and the future world champions Germany. I remember the US playing against Belgium in the semis. I'm a lowkey Belgium supporter so I was rooting for them.

I watched some of the CL qualification matches this week, will have to try to catch the 2nd leg next week.

Yes my cousin was so sure Ronaldo could replace Tom Brady in my heart.

The USMNT team only lost to Germany 1-0 which I thought was a pretty decent result.

So he didn't? xD

That was a very good result.

So the UCL group stage draw was yesterday. I think groups C and H seem to be the hardest ones. Real is in Group H, I hope they can handle it the way they should.

Less than 3 weeks until the group stage starts!

No he didn't.

Yes I saw the draws. And while I don't know all the teams I know Group H definitely seemed like the hardest.

Fair enough.

Yeah, Borussia Dortmund is gonna be tough for Real (like last year when they were in the same group too and BVB won the group) and I'm sure Tottenham won't be an easy opponent either. I would imagine Apoel probably doesn't have a lot of chances to go through (I don't know this team) but of course there can always be surprises. But I hope Real handles the group stage though.

Yeah I saw that. I'm sure Real Madrid will take care of it's business. Though I can understand you not liking their group.

I'll have to trust they will! And the group could have been easier (some of the big teams seem to have gotten pretty easy groups) but it is what it is, this just means more potential drama and stress.

Oh I totally get that. Even when I know the Patriots are the best team when they have to play a team that is good I get nervous. I'd rather then have an easier matchup.
