NFL Player Pat Tillman Killed in Battle
I bet most of you have already heard, but Arizona Cardinal safety Pat Tillman was killed in battle in Afghanistan. He will be remembered as one of our country's true heroes. He turned down the wealth and fame of the NFL to serve his country:

I saw that at MSN, then later at ESPN.

Yeah, I saw that ... while I don't agree with the action in Afghanistan, anyone who's willing to sacrifice a multi-million dollar contract to fight for what he thinks is right deserves nothing but respect and admiration, so RIP, Pat Tillman. You made a difference.

I heard this story earlier as well. And I have to say, we honestly need more Americans like Pat Tillman who are willing to give up huge sacrifices in their lives (in his case, million dollar contracts and a job that was a true dream) to support and protect our country.
We have too many who prefer to sit back and bad mouth what goes on instead of helping out, and I know he died doing exactly what he wanted to do. That makes his a true American. __________________

Sad news.
While I don't want to get into the politics behind the war, I will say that I admired Tillman's conviction and desire to fight for what he believed in. He made the ultimate sacrifice. Based on everything I have read and heard about him, it sounds like he was a man of great integrity and skill who didn't want to be singled out for his contributions. A total class act. He will be missed. __________________

I heard about this story. Pat Tillman gave up the millions of dollars he could have made in the NFL to serve his country. I dont think alot of big name athletes would be able to do what he did. He gave his life fighting for the country he loved. Wheter your views are for or against the war, Pat Tillman is a true American hero.
