I don’t get what the point of showing their dynamic as the main two characters and all of the development they’ve had in going from enemies to co leads to friends to something obviously deeper would be if it didn’t lead to romance. It has literally been said that this show is Bellarke’s story. If they don’t mean to have it end with them romantically involved, then what’s the point of having them be the leads?

I don’t even know if it’s the fact that they’re the leads that makes it feel so necessary to me, but just . . . the story that’s been written. The relationship. The way it’s been filmed and presented to us. It all screams epic love story to me.

Yes. They could be non-leads, and I would still feel as if it has been presented as romantically inclined and implied. That’s what’s coming across on screen.

All this. And I just hate that fans are continuously being told that we're ridiculous for seeing more into their relationship when JR himself said that the show shows Bellarke's story and they're central to it blah blah ... so how exactly are we supposed to read into it? I'm fine with them being platonic soulmates but the fact of the matter is, they were NEVER painted that way.

Ugh, if the man just hadn’t done that interview! It cast such a dark cloud over hiatus for so many people in the fandom. I’m still clinging to his “yet,” though.
