1. "Who we are and who we need to be to survive are two very different things." - This line ... it just epitomises who Bellamy is to the core and remains relevant until now. It's not always easy to separate who you are and who you need to be in a particular moment/to achieve a certain objective but in a harsh world like the one he is in, it's sometimes absolutely necessary in order to keep his sanity/humanity intact in a sense.

2. "Whatever the hell you want." - I love that this line has a different meaning in season 1 than it has now ... he was full of bravado when he uttered it in season 1 but now, he knows that it also means that you accept the decisions made by people that you care about, even if you don't agree with them.

3. "My sister, my responsibility." - Blakes in a nutshell. He has always done what he could to protect his sister and though it's a really heavy burden to take - and even if it means letting her do horrible things to him because he thinks/knows that she needs it - he'll do it. It's just who he is as a brother, all wrapped up in that one simple line.

4. "Slay your demons when you're awake, they won't be there to get you in your sleep." - CLEARLY, it was interpreted wrongly by the person he said it to but it is still a great quote and certainly one which people can apply in RL. So many things terrify us but it doesn't mean that we should let fear take over, ever.

5. "You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved." - I love this line because Bellamy has finally realised that he can do all he can for someone (e.g. Octavia) but if they don't want to be helped/saved, there's nothing that he can do. Also, sadly, he was probably applying this line to himself as well.

Yes, clearly. That psycho girl. The only good thing about her was that she gave us some of our first and most noticeable Dad!Bellamy moments.

Yay for your number one, Sarah! I love how that became such an iconic show quote in addition to being a great Bellamy quote.

And yes, that quote really is one of the defining lines in the entire show.

I wonder if the writers knew how iconic and applicable to all characters that line would become at the time.

I somehow think they didn't foresee such an impact of that one quote.

I think they knew it would be thematic for that season, though I don't think they knew how thematic it would become for the show as a whole.

It really has, I think of the show and that quote instantly sticks out to me.
