I kinda liked him, because he was an ass. I am drawn to that type of character. They have the most potential to grow.

Exactly. I don't tend to gravitate towards the characters that are the heroes right from the start, because the only potential for development is for them to regress or go backwards or turn negative.
Now with Bellamy . . . don't get me wrong, we've seen some of that. But we've seen that in addition to a lot of positive development and growth and progression, so it's been, quite simply, fascinating to watch. |

Yea, he has regressed some. But he is no where near the same "Power-hungry, self-serving jackass" That he used to be.

I remember starting the show (with Tar telling me she loved him) and I was like HOW am I supposed to love this motherfcker? I thought he would be another Sawyer (from Lost) type, and the whole angsty bad guy trope is so annoying to me. But boy, was I wrong. <3 Bellamy's development has been consistently great, I really love what they're doing to his character - and I'm sure it has a lot to do with Bob's ability to portray him so well.

His development has been the best on the whole show IMO.

It didn't take long for me to change my mid but I was truly confused why he was a fan favourite in the beginning. I preferred characters like Clarke, Raven, Wells, Monty, etc. __________________

That's a rare thing the fandom agreed on. I feel like the majority of Bellamy fans went through a similar process:
Who is this douche? Awww, he is so protective of people. MONSTER? YOU ARE NOT A MONSTER, YOU ARE PUPPY. protect Bellamy at all costs. __________________

I don't remember when exactly Bellamy won me over (it wasn't in season 1 though, I'm sure of that), I just remember watching the WE CAN'T LOSE CLARKE moment and going OMG YOU POOR BABY, then I knew I cared about him.
