For sure. I can understand how that'd be difficult for him to do but I too am glad that he did that before they were separated for 6 years as April said.

Rewatched Sister's Keeper and it really was such a huge responsibility that Aurora placed on him as a big brother ... and that is truly reflected in his behaviour especially in the first season but I'm glad that he slowly learned to let go of her over time, after that.

In season 1 he was also driven by the guilt of causing his mother's death and sister's imprisonment, he wanted to make up for it but realized that Octavia didn't need his protection anymore.

One of the YouTube reactors I’ve been watching smartly pointed out that their 1x13 goodbye is almost like him giving her and Lincoln his blessing, in a way.

I definitely see that in that scene too, April. Considering how Bellamy used to see Lincoln, he definitely "approved" of him being with Octavia by asking Lincoln to keep her safe.

It was both Bellamy giving them his blessing and accepting that Octavia didn't need him and that he had to let her make her own choices.
