i think in both cases we had something that sucked like Lexa not being the very real Lexa and Alicia not getting to reunite with her mom (but that can still happen later on). however it was a better exit than being shot by Clarke or an ultimate death by a walker.

There is the possibility of doing something beautifully emotional with Season 8 (and maybe 9) and the loss of Alicia in Madison. Something that would provoke real emotions in us during the potential reunions at the end of the series, making the latter memorable. I'm sure they'll mess that up too... C&G always start something they're unable to fully exploit.

i even can imagine Madison will hardly ever mention Nick or Alicia because they had her say that she won't look for Alicia and will instead help Morgan.
