i never heard of "Dune" but the casting looks amazing!

We spoke about it here some time ago, it's this game of thrones in space story. Or better the main source of ideas that GRRM had when he created GOT for sure. It's about houses who rule over parts of the galaxy, there is a main planet where an emeror rules over the whole empire, (like kings landing and the king). House atreidis (like the starks also dark haired) fight against house harkonnen (like the lannisters, they are even blonde like the lannisters). But the atreidis get betrayed, only paul atreidis survives and joins a group of people called the fremes, a bit like the wildlings.

ah omg i remember! i just didn't know it has a title named Dune now! makes sense they picked Jason Momoa again. Timothée Chalamet is an interesting actor as well. i will definitely watch! but it's not based on a book GRRM wrote is it?

Only the first and I liked it. I only read in some wikis what happens in the books after that. I already barely make it to watch all movies/shows I like, so it's difficult for me to also read books besides that.

maybe the show will be even better than the books (like it's the case with GOT imo).

Not really a show. It‘s a planned movie trilogy or so. But I expect them to be better than the 80s Dune movie by David Lynch. It‘s a bit too...well it‘s very david lynch if you know what I mean. His films or shows are always a bit weird, like twin peaks.

since i never heard of the movie or the books, i am clueless but also excited. David Lynch is a great director imo, but some movies are indeed weird. i should watch "Dune", just to know if this is something i like or not.

Yes you could watch that. But i think the new version will differ quite a bit from david lynch‘s version.
