It's a good day in Australia
I didn't think it would get to 60% __________________

Thanks for the new thread, Em! Great title, of course.
I see some people are surprised at 60 percent thinking it's very low, but I knew going into it that it wouldn't be super high. Australia is more conservative than they let on. Glad to see it still reached majority in all territories, though. I'm actually surprised that NSW was one of the more conservative ones, but maybe that shouldn't surprise me? I don't know what their demographics really are. Lovely sentiment from Alycia. __________________

Some history if you are interested.
Yesterday marks the 32nd anniversary of the Operation Hyacinth in communist Poland which is sadly not well documented and largely ignored. "The aim of the operation was to detain, interrogate, and register both actual and alleged homosexuals in order to create a kind of state Pink Archive." Thanks, Paulina! I'll take a look at those links for sure. It's something I haven't heard of before, and I'm always curious about cultural and social history, as that is my field of historical interest. Will be interesting to look into.

Thanks for the new thread
Congrats to Australia I'm positively surprised. Wasn't really sure if they would make it but I'm so relieved they did and great Alycia posted __________________

Yes, congrats to Australia. Tony Abbot called his sister yesterday to congratulate her, must have been a very awkward phone call.

Legal or not, still sounds like some type of war crime to me. I skimmed the first article until I can read it more in depth, and it sounds like some type of shady cover-up operation. Not sure how it works in Poland, but maybe in the future they'll declassify documents like they do here (although, even in the USA many of the documents that are declassified are heavily redacted). This information is very important to the history of Poland, so hopefully it will be brought to light a bit more.
