it's making me so sad and upset. here i was, thinking GOT is different. but there are no different show runners,

i better stick with Bold Type now.

I only watched one episode of GoT but I remember seeing criticism of how they are depicting women in regards to violence and rape in the past and Dany always came across like a white savior type so I was never even inclined to start.

i am upset with myself that i haven't noticed that earlier. they had their excuses about serving the storyline bla bla whatever. i had my favorite character and stood with her but now that they are ruining Dany too, i am finally aware.

Well it takes place in a time that had questionalbe morals towards women so it made sense storywise, but the things they do now don't even make sense in the story, they're just misogynist.

It's still problematic if the raped character says stuff like "Without Littlefinger and Ramsay and the rest, I would’ve stayed a little bird all my life." Women don't need to be victimized in order to become strong.
