I like the break a lot, bc it gives me time to catch up on the show.

One of the episodes of season 7 is actually really interesting, it shows the past on earth before the first apocalypse and also how a group of environmental activist named "tree crew" who had their camp in the woods became the later well known "trikru". And the daughter of the shepherd invented the language and culture of the grounders and was part of that tree crew, which probably makes the shepherd and ancestor of lexa. But also shows how the bardo people are all technocratic religious fanatics coming from the shepherd, while trikru has always been rooted in empathy and resect for nature coming from the shepherds daughter who was an activist and then created the grounders together with becca.

And while I don't know yet, I bet that is also the reason why lexa had those special tattoos showing the pathway of the anomaly gateways.

^ yes, her back tattoo is definitely important, it's alignment of celestial bodies has something to do with the worlds accessible through the Anomaly.

And becca and the shepherd both saw a sort of judgement day and the last fight for mankind, but while becca believed in reaching that by creating a more naturalist society aka the grounder culture to prepare mankind, the shepherd believed in creating a technocratic fascist society to be prepared with the most modern technology and hence they left earth. And about half of the original bunker people went wtih becca and became the grounders the other half went with the shepherd to bardo.

I can only recommend to to watch episode 7x08 tbh. Even those of you who don't want to watch everything, this episode explains a lot and it shows the grounders, especially the trikru as first clan have always been the good guys tbh (despite also bringing out some very evil people like queen naya or sheidheda).
