How colorful, lively, detailed and grounded in reality the locations were back then...I did appreciate this then, but I appreciate it a hundredfold now.

Some folks complain that FTWD didn't fulfill it's promise of showing the early days of the zombie apocalypse. But, I think it did just that. From the use of a dam, or a supermarket, or a stadium, you can see people are still holding to notions of the old world. They still trade for valuables, They're still using old resources as more than just a place to hole up. People still act as a society.

I think of FTWD as people trying to hold on to the old world, with hope that they can keep it going. In TWD characters just seemed to wander and meander until the show found the notion of rebuilding the world.

Ya, I felt that Fear caught some unnecessary flack after season 1 with people complaining that they abandoned the notion that this show went over the collapse of civilization. If you take a step back and look at seasons 2 and 3 you realize that it still was showing this, but in a more subtle and integrated way. The first half of season 2 showed how people were trying to find ways to escape the apocalypse and those who were accepting it, while also giving glimpses of remnants of the government such as the coastguard and the abandoned shelters. While the second half showed people trying to settle down and rebuild while also trying to fully realize whats going on. And season three showed somewhat of a civilization reforming from preexisting organizations, but also their eventual collapse. All of this makes wonder what an Erickson ran season 4 would have been like in further exploring the collapse of the world.

Hence is why FTWD is more realistic than TWD was ever was.

Fear looked more fresh and grounded in the first 3 seasons. The stadium bazaar was one of the best locations ever in the Walking Dead universe and had so much more potential.

I thought the bazaar was perfect because it was a different sort of setting than what we've seen compared to see another damn road somewhere. Furthermore, I can totally see people using locations like stadiums for gather places, so I saw nothing campy about it.

Well the what ifs with erickson don't matter anymore, bc now we are stuck with Gimple the Pimpleman.

They said they were going to show the collapse of civilization and everything falling apart right when it spread and they did for about 4 episodes
