Do you guys think they’re mentioning Lexa so much for a reason? Or just fan service?

there are two options i can imagine: 1) needing viewers and wanting Clexa fans back aka fan service or 2) setting up Madi dying or the flame being destroyed or something which is important for the plot. basically it's one of those options or am i missing something?

Madi dying seems a bit too much for me. She is just beginning to develop as I heard. So I think they are mentioning Lexa just because. Besides she had a lot of mentions in season 4 as well. She is the Commander after all, why wouldn't they mention her?

actually good point Makrus. when i think back they mentioned a lot of Lexa in s4 too like almost literally every other episode had her name whether it was Roan telling Clarke about Lexa knowing about sacrifice or her leadership or how Lexa would or wouldn't have done this or that so maybe the Lexa mentions don't mean anything as we think.

Also Madi is basically following in Lexa’s footsteps so parallels are actually relevant for the story, didn’t Jason always want the commander to be a little girl before they created Lexa? I heard that somewhere.
