i don't even feel a constant danger. i just feel like they're killing off a character just because. with Madison, i don't see the world as a dangerous place where a shocking and unexpected death happened, i just see stupid decisions resulting in a pointless death and not really caring as a result.

Nick's death felt a little more shocking to me because it was the last thing I expected. It wasn't telegraphed, it wasn't something built up all season or over the course of like 5 episodes, it just happened.

the payoff was astonishingly stupid though, because with no resolution (after all the buildup, the characters drop it because of a little speech from Morgan), and with everyone being buddy-buddy with Charlie now, it just feels pointless.

Madison and Nick should have switched roles this season. Nick sacrificing himself would have echoed his decision at the dam. Madison killing hipster bro could've been as epic as when she beat the **** out of Ofelia while also being a parallel to Travis.

Yes that would've been a much better storywriting, but gimple took in an equally bad writing team as marshall on nashville.

it's sad that shows can jump the shark with bad show runners and writers in charge even though it was so good at the beginning.

Anyways I will always remember Nick and Alicia's great sibling relationship and their cute little supportive moments.
