I keep reading that in the The Talking Dead according to the producer, Andrew Chambliss, Alicia survived the infection and is alive. Can someone confirm this or did I hear this wrong?

I haven't watched that but I also heard that the showrunners confirmed it. Also we saw it with our own eyes, and it was foreshadowed an episode or two earlier with Alicia saying letting a fever do its job as pass kills off infections. And in the finale Morgan said Alicia is different. So yeah I think these are all signs.

They foreshadowed her recovery earlier in the episode or maybe it was the episode before. Alicia talks about how with lesser infections a fever can be left to do its job and kill the virus but that she's been keeping hers at bay with drugs.

Though I have no idea if this is scientifically accurate but its pretty clear they established it as lore in the show with this bit of dialogue.

I also think her walking away and shooting the walker was real. She must be healthy again and not dying.

But I think all the other characters think she died. Plus, Strand and the others on the rafts would've seen her passing out on the beach and would assume it was her dying.
