Saddest TV break ups

#1 Cristina and Preston Burke (Grey's Anatomy)

Although Callie and Arizona's breakup hit me hard, the end of Christina and Preston's relationship was an even bigger bombshell. It was a rocky road to the altar for them. Seeing that his apprehensive bride clearly isn't ready for marriage, Burke calls off their wedding. Unable to breathe in her dress, Christina is left with a broken heart and so is the audience. What a heartbreaking cruel moment.

#2 Stefan and Elena (The Vampire Diaries)

I never really did the shipping thing in TVD but Stefan crying and their relationship not working out pained me a lot.

# 3 Carrie and Aidan (Sex and the City)

She had a perfectly loving, kind, and hot furniture-making boyfriend and she went and messed it up by falling for Mr. Big again. And again. Then she somehow managed to get him to forgive her and propose to her, but she ran away a second time. Parting is such sweet sorrow, and both of these breakups were heartbreaking to watch. I was mad at her.

#4 Ross and Rachel (Friends)

When I went through your lists I saw Ross and Rachel a lot and I agree. Even though they came backt together again, their break up in season 3 hurt like hell.

#5 Joey and Pacey (Dawson'a Creek)

As far as I am concerned, Joey, Pacey, and Dawson are still the ultimate TV love triangle. Joey would eventually choose Team Pacey, but their relationship wasn't smooth sailing from there on. With college on the horizon, Pacey starts to fear that he's not good enough for Joey. He unleashes his insecurities in the middle of senior prom, furiously rocking the boat. Infuriated by his outburst, Joey tells him to go to hell and abandons the ship. Since I shipped them, I was afraid they'd not end up together but I am glad they did. Still their break up was shocking for me.
