The show should've continued from where it left off, and later down the timeline a crossover could've happened (with an interesting character).

As far as I'm concerned AMC is severely overestimating how many people genuinely give a **** about their expanded universe plans. They're blinded by their greed and desperation to see this but they'll be forced to actually do something when they have to witness the rapid decline in franchise ratings and online fan-interest, as well as their plummeting stocks and mass exodus of investors.

Losing TWD and Better Call Saul in the same year is going to be their dagger, no way they recover no matter how low TWD's ratings dipped in recent years
