Michael basically said it in the episode. Poseidon (I refuse to call that douche Jacob) left Michael to rot so he could have Sara and Mike for himself

Yeah he did want Sara to himself...but why? Is it because he admired Michael and his mind and what he had so he took over his life and therefore married his wife etc? Michael did say to Lincoln that he was a psychopath...

Yeah to have more control over Michael he probably started it off as, then in his own weird twisted way, he fell 'in love' with her. Because i don't believe it's real love. No one would do that to someone they truly loved
