One thing I loved about their rivalry is they ignored the trope that the main protagonist of the show is always invincible. Michael had weak spots and Mahone was great at singling them out.

I wanted Michael to be invincible. But the show wasn't afraid to put it all on the line. Capture was always right there and I always felt like I was waiting for it to happen. You never knew which way the show would go.
