It's strange to think how deeply Mycroft really does care about Sherlock. I wonder if he has ever cared about anyone else at all - like his parents or sister. Maybe he cared about them too, but it came out in very strange ways. But I'm sure he never felt protective of anyone the way he does about his little brother.
