Maybe the break was too long and some people didn't noticed that it started again or just forgot it or weren't so focused to watch and forgot to watch, because it wasn't in their heads anymore. Not everybody loves series as much as we do.

That's true But if you're hooked, and I have to say that mid-season finale cliffhanger was HUGE, you'd be back, especially for such a show... Sadly they weren't
