Will we see any interaction between Once Upon a Time’s Rumple and Zelena? Is their feud still going on? —Rebecca Rebecca Mader told me that yes, we will get to see Rumple’s reaction to Zelena’s appearance in Hyperion Heights. “Oh yeah. Oh yeah. They clock each other and they meet again,” she says. As for lingering tensions, “I mean, I accidentally sort of kind of killed his son!” she notes. Meanwhile in the other realm, we’ll get to witness to the first time Zelena laid eyes on Wish Hook, and be properly puzzled. “You see her not really understand who he is and why he is, and it’s a really funny moment. I really liked that scene, and I think the fans will get a kick out of it.”

To refresh our memories, here's what the writers have said about Rumple's arc in 7B so far:

Is Anastasia officially the Guardian or is that something we shouldn't be sure of yet? Kitsis: We are strongly suspecting it is her. The thing about the Guardian is we also at one point realized it was Alice, and she hinted towards Rumple making some kind of sacrifice so Robin and Alice could be together. So I would look at the Guardian as kind of like the Dali Llama, which is when one is gone a new one appears. But right now Anastasia looks like a prime target for it. And given that, should we be worried about Rumple passing on this power and dying? Kitsis: Well, I think we should be worried because we realize he's like a vampire who's lived for a thousand years. He's ready to move on and move on from the power. I think we should also be worried about people tempting him and returning him to darkness. In the same respect, he is also a very powerful person in Seattle in a land without magic, and he has a lot of enemies. I'd be worried about his past maybe coming back to thwart him.

I'm torn, to be honest. I MISS Emilie so much, and while I LOVE LOVE LOVE Beauty and Rumple's arc, I don't like that Belle died for Rumple's story, especially when I have to deal with Bex's return and Zelena's presence.

In any case, I hope he does post the pages from Beauty

Yeah that is a shame , but since we knew at end of S6 that Emilie won't be returning full time, I guess this is one of the ways it could have gone..but it was very powerful and moving and got wonderful reviews so couldn't ask for more really..

I think that the only reason Em’s absence has been palatable is because her/Rumple’s/Rumbelle’s story is so epic, but I’m still extremely annoyed. I do think that it would have required creativity to keep her around because otherwise you run the risk of repeating prior stories (where Rumbelle were constantly separated), but ok…then be creative. They could have had Belle go with Rumple to EF2, and have them be separated via curse, but they already have that going on with Henry/Regina. So, why not do the novel thing and allow Rumbelle to be together in HH while they searched for the Guardian? Maybe Gothel could have targeted Belle…ok, not the most creative thing, but at least she’d have been a big part of the story.

Emilie (and Belle) deserved far better, IMO...

Honestly, I'd take what we got over anything else the writers could've come up with. I'm just so done with Rumbelle either quarreling with each other or being separated/attacked by villains and curses all the time, and I don't trust the writers to be creative enough to do anything else with them. I also like the idea of Rumple having to stay in the light without Belle by his side until he finds the Guardian, and then he'd be reunited with her in the afterlife (I actually LOVE that trope, lovers being reunited in the afterlife ). Plus Emilie obviously loves "Beauty". Of course it would be great if she could appear in flashbacks. But I'm sure Belle won't be forgotten in 7B anyway.

And yes, Adam, we're waiting!

I don’t disagree, but I just love Em so much that I get frustrated at times..I think this is Rumple’s greatest, and final test ( Miraculously, ABC was right about this) because he has had to do this without Belle. He’s not only had to remain in the light, remain the good man he’d become, but he’s has to do so while on a quest fraught with uncertainty and danger. By the end of his arc, he will have earned his rest - and will have saved the world by ending the reign of the Dark Ones forever.

Has anyone seen the movie Somewhere in Time? It’s SO Rumbelle...and the ending, sigh
