Once Upon a Time casts 24 star as Morpheus | EW.com

Once Upon a Time has tapped 24 alum Giles Matthey to play Morpheus in season 6, EW has learned exclusively. Despite the introduction of the Land of Untold Stories opening up the storytelling possibilities to just about everyone, we’re not talking about Lawrence Fishburne’s character in The Matrix. Matthey’s character is the quick-witted and insightful god of dreams from Greek mythology. He’s equally good at reading people as he is at hiding his own agenda. He will be doing what Morpheus does best — guiding people through the world of dreams. Lest we forget, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) is currently under a sleeping curse, and we hear Morpheus will, in fact, be interacting with her, as well as Rumple (Robert Carlyle). Matthey, whose credits also include True Blood, The Good Wife, and NCIS, will appear in at least the season 6 premiere. Once Upon a Time returns Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
