December 06, 2004 - Tonight Online reports that *NSYNC member and pop star Justin Timberlake has won the title role in New Line's Iron Man movie. Timberlake, "who is currently carving out a Hollywood film career, is believed to have landed the role of alcoholic billionaire Tony Stark, who becomes a superhero after inventing an iron super-suit."


Timberlake is currently filming Alpha Dog for Iron Man director Nick Cassavetes. His big-screen debut will be in the forthcoming Edison, opposite Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman.

One big problem with these Timberlake as Iron Man rumors: they're inaccurate!

IGN FilmForce was advised by our trusty Iron Man source that there is no truth whatsoever to the reports.

Iron Man begins filming sometime in 2005 for a summer 2006 release. The script is by Miles Millar & Alfred Gough, with rewrites by David Hayter and director Cassavetes.

Lindsay Lohan was on 'The Tony Danza Show' on Tuesday (January 4), where she commented on dealing with paparazzi and criticized Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC and girlfriend Cameron Diaz after they attacked a photographer and took off with his camera. "You have to understand that when you come into this business you wanna be in the tabloids, you want to be written up, you want paparazzi to follow you and, then, when they do, people freak out," Lohan remarked. "I mean you have Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake hitting people now... It gets frustrating but you have to understand that's their job and they're just trying to get a picture. It's a blessing rather than something you should hate... If you let them take a picture it's a little bit easier."

I really like Lindsay but it seems like she's saying that Cameron and Justin have been doing this for longer periods of time than she has and their not really media whores like others so that means that they shouldn;'t have that much privacy.

Cameron, Justin Deny Engagement Rumors


Although Cameron Diaz was seen wearing a sparking diamond on her ring finger, a rep for the actress denies rumors that she's engaged to her boyfriend, singer Justin Timberlake.

"They are not engaged," Diaz's rep, Brad Cafarelli, tells PEOPLE, following reports in the British papers about the couple's purported plans.

The Sun tabloid and Sky News reported that Timberlake, 23, popped the question to the Charlie's Angels star, 32, over New Year's weekend and that the pair celebrated by partying with pals in a Los Angeles restaurant, with Diaz showing off her ring.

The couple, who have been together since April 2003, have denied rumors in the past that they plan to wed.
