I have to wonder how anyone can afford to travel anywhere if they have to spend several days trapped in a hotel as soon as they get there. Not only is the 10-day hotel stay a significant expense, but for a lot of people, it effectively puts their life on a 10 day hold. It certainly seems like a virtual travel ban.

I think that's the intention. They want you to only travel if you absolutely have to and this effectively keeps the partiers out.

It does. But if the last year has taught us anything it's that people just will not listen to common sense regulations and unfortunately that necessitates stricter policies.

Elyes posted a new selfie on Instagram today. From the way he's dressed (in a t-shirt) and the fact he's squinting in the bright sunshine I'd hazard a guess that he's not in the UK at the moment! :lol: (It's freezing here at the moment. What happened to Spring? :bawl: )

Hmmm. He's saying "Morning, Amigos" and he posted it 4 hours ago. It was 9:30 am four hours ago in California, so I'm guessing he's back there - or close by.

Thank you for the link. :) I hadn't seen that before and I didn't know all that info about his family. Also I didn't realise ALS was the same as MND - I wonder why it's been a different name?

There's some information here about the various names that are used for this group of diseases. Basically, MND is a term that describes a group of diseases of which ALS is one. But in the US, ALS is used generically for the entire group. It's also called Lou Gehrig's disease in the US because of the baseball player who died from ALS.
