Random Thought:

After the episode where Paige mentions how she loves old standards, and how Walter kind of degrades them for being "old standards," I sort of had this head canon where instead of Paige walking away, upset that she will never see "Dopey Walter" again, I was kind of hoping she would have used the opportunity to show him how Old Standards CAN still be relevant by singing "Moon River" in the bedroom as a way to seduce him.
I think he would change his mind fairly quickly,

That's the problem I have had with Paige all season she just walks away instead of telling Walter how she feels. Looking back there were clues that the relationship was going to end he didn't want to go to the cabin with her and Ralph at Christmas a big red flag there I think and they were apart most of the Valentines Day episode I know she was sick but still. Also there was the Halloween episode they were fighting and in Wave Goodbye they had a stupid fight over when their first kiss was

Communication has never been their strong suit, and it was pretty much bound to lead to major problems. With Walter, it's something he struggles with in general, not just with Paige, but with everyone. It's part of why he hired Paige in the first place. With Paige, she seems to suffer from a problem that lots of people have - expecting the significant other to be their ideal of a partner and then being disappointed when they don't measure up. Paige, however, has told Walter that the way he is is part of who he is - and he shouldn't try to be someone that he's not. Then she turns around and that's exactly what she wants from him - to be someone that he's not.

Whenever they make a specific effort to communicate, their relationship is lovely. It frustrates the hell out of me that it always stops. They love each other so much it seems they both end up thinking that is enough, when you always have to work at your relationship no matter how in love you are. I really hope they acknowledge that when they get back together.

I think when they do get back together they need to go to couples therapy they need a independent third party that is not a member of the team. There is post Finale Fanfiction called Redeem that has them getting back together and in couples therapy in Ch 3 it can't be Toby because it is a conflict of interest I know he means well but sometimes Toby makes things worse

Toby does mean well, but yeah, sometimes his proximity to the situation makes him not the best mediator - though sometimes that's exactly what makes him right for the position. It's very complicated.

In this case I definitely think they need a neutral 3rd party. Since Toby is on the outs with Walter himself, he really can't be objective. And even if he could be, Walter is not likely to trust him to be.

Yeah, agreed. I'm not sure Dr. Rizzuto would be best either but he's probably who they would go for.

Bizarre as he may be, Dr. Rizzuto does seem to be able to get people to communicate - sort of. But I'm sure that they could probably find a better counselor in a big city like LA.

The problems Waige have could be fixed in a couple episodes if they talk and agree to get counseling but they are both stubborn and don't want to admit they are wrong

If there's a fifth season, something tells me it might be longer than a few episodes before Waige are together again (unless, of course, season 5 is condensed to 13 episodes).

However long S5 is, I figure about half of it will be Waige apart, with 2-3 episodes with them reconciling, and the remainder leading up to the establishment of some recognition of permanence - either moving in together, a proposal or a wedding.
