The place I go has a lady who specializes in artistic hair color - rainbows and things like that. I'm tempted to do something wild (for me) and get my hair dyed blue.

My niece told me she uses a temporary dye that leaves her hair very soft, but washes out after a week or so. I might give that a try.

I have spent tonight re-watching my sister's wedding video over and over to take notes since I am officiating a wedding in less than two weeks and I definitely have never done that before.

At least you won't have a language problem. My parents were married in Germany by a German preacher who spoke only a little English, but he wanted to do everything in both languages. It went pretty well until he told my dad "You may now kiss the broad."

I have decided I am renting a car for the wedding. Going off the $0.57/mile that I can write off when I deliver food with my car for wear and tear, it would 'cost' me about twice as much in mileage to take my own car - before gas - than what a rental would cost me. Plus with 145K miles on my car, I need to make it last as long as I can. It will be nice to be driving a 'younger' car for a week.

Sounds like a good plan. It will be a nice perk to your trip as well as saving wear and tear on your car, so you'll have it for many more deliveries to come.

Yeah, prolonging needing my new car as long as I can is ideal. I'm trying to save for a new one but I can't do it yet.

I'm working part time now as a contractor for my old company, which means I'm self-employed and have to pay estimated taxes every quarter.

Normally, I'm pretty confident about taxes, but to calculate my estimated taxes, I have to juggle what I made as an employee, plus what I expect to get from 4 different pension plans plus what I expect to get from contracting and any withholding that has been or will be taken out of those. It all has my head spinning, so I called a well known tax preparing company to find out if this is something they work on.

I was told yes, they do, but when I asked for a ballpark range of cost, the lady told me they can't even begin to estimate a cost until they complete the process. Seriously?!?!?! They expect me to walk in there and have them provide a service with no idea if it will cost me $20 or $2000? I don't think so! This is supposed to be a company that deals with numbers all day long. They ought to be able to come up with some sort of typical range. Mindboggling.

Guess I'll just go back to scratching my head and figuring it out myself.

I think I paid $210 for my tax preparer to do mine for 2020, but that was three W2s, whatever form unemployment is and a schedule C. And she said I can write that off as a business expense for the next year. I know it varies by area though and by specific service.
