they make Barry just seem old and stale he just the friend or parent that gives you encouragement the little cheerleader

In this episode they've made Barry support Iris/Wally/Cisco but he usually gets plenty of support from the other characters. I don't see it as a bad thing when the dynamics are more balanced

I agree. It's not the Barry Allen show. I like the balance.

Well, Barry is the titular lead so he should get more than the others but the supporting cast needs some development too. It's hard to get invested in a show if the protagonist has relationships with one-dimensional characters.
