I am rewatching reruns of the show and the second time around, knowing how it ends, it's even more difficult to understand how much time they spent on Vanessa/Dorian and why they didn't develop Vanessa/Ethan earlier if the plan always was to have just 3 seasons.

Honestly I think it was a waste though. I don't see the point of Vanessa fighting so hard against the darkness, and even Ethan trying to save her from it too.. if she was going to die anyway. And for him to have to kill her was the worst.
