My birthday celebrations are all over, and now I'm away for the weekend in Blackpool.

Can do. I'll be taking some, I'll have to see if there are any decent ones. I don't like this camera as much as my old one: the zoom on my old one was so good! It may be I'm too far away for decent pictures of the cast. Nervous about meeting Robert Carlyle, I've no idea what to say to him, or any of them actually...

I am really shocked Robert is doing a convention. it doesn't seem like his type of thing.

I wish I could offer something to say to him, but I wouldn't know what to say to him either. I'd have him sign my Trainspotting dvd.

Blackpool is about 40 minutes from me in the car! It's a nice place when there's decent weather. If you like Doctor Who you should try and visit that museum

I've been to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff. I doubt I'll have time for sight-seeing, though.

Yes I'm a long-time fan of Doctor Who, although I don't know so much about the 2005- reboot stuff.

It sucks. I've had jobs in the past, requested holiday and been rejected. But god knows what would happen if Luke could get a certain time off, booked a holiday abroad and i couldn't get the time off. I think if you give them enough notice they should give you the time you ask for. They shouldn't be able to tell you when you get to use your holiday days.

I told my [female] boss in March about by end of June vacation. She raised a stink because that was the week she was thinking about taking vacation. She was not booked for it yet - didn't have a hotel or flight booked and paid for. She asked if I could change my week, but I had already booked and paid for everything.

So now we're off at the same time. Actually she's off longer because she's taking 7 days and I'm taking 5. And last time I asked for 7 days off, guess what she did...she raised a stink saying that was too many days.
