She’s going to fall for the first charming ******* that glances her way, the bad boy that she thinks she can change with her love.” Stefan gave a short bark of laughter as he emptied the remains of the cut-glass decanter. “I just never quite envisioned that he’d chain you up in a flophouse so he could extort a million dollars from me.”

Aurora shook her head. “Daddy…no, you’re wrong. That’s…that’s not how it is with me and Killian–”

“You and Killian? There is no you and Killian. He’s done. I already talked to Agent Swan. FBI’s closing in. He’s not getting far, I promise you, and the most action he’ll be getting is from the prison pen pal program. Forget it, princess. This is not a storybook. He’s not some romantic swashbuckler, he’s a piece of ****, and he’s going to pay for his crimes.”

Which was exactly what Killian was counting on.
