She's so.....blah there. She's not into the hand holding, but not repulsed by it either.
And he's not getting a firm No there, so he thinks he can just keep trying.  Maybe she felt if she said no, he'd either leave her there, losing her shot at a community, and then she'd be out in the wilderness without any protection OR he'd attack her?__________________

Maybe she thought that, but seeing as she never really expresses her feelings we can't know, and also neither does he. She just doesn't seem to be someone, who is willing to express their own feelings and opinions, but then of course gets upset when her needs are overlooked.
