I’m sorry to hear about the death of Katie’s dad.

He was one of my mom’s “teenage heartthrobs”.

I’ve been texting her about it today.

I was very sorry to read of David's passing.

His last words make me think that he's referring to his and Katie's on and off relationship throughout the years, especially since he said that to Katie. It must have been bittersweet to get that message before he left.
