It's the same for me, but then I bring them up when talking to a more casual fan and some have no idea what I'm referring to, and I remember that they are not canon. Sigh.

It sucks because in both Thor and TDW there are deleted bits that would have served the characters well, not just Thor and Loki - for instance I would have enjoyed Jane more in the second movie if they kept her deleted scenes in.

I am honestly still wondering why they were so hell bent on making The Dark World so short.
At least they didn't cut off any too good/emotional scene between Thor and Loki this time.

Wasn't there an issue between Marvel and Alan Taylor about the runtime? Alan wanted it longer, but they said no? I know that they denied the reports, but who knows exactly what happened there. Let the director do their job, Marvel!

They did have some of the best moments.
I have my issues with the movie, but I can't complain too much on the space they gave to our bros.

There are way too many rumors about the studio wanting the last say in a lot of matters not to think that where there is smoke, there is also fire.
Taylor was picked up because they didn't have a clear idea about the mood of Thor 2, and his Game of Thrones work seemed as good as any reference. He did what he could, but you can tell he didn't have much weight in shaping the film.

Asgard was stunning in the second film, but I think no one understood Thor's universe more than Ken did.

Ken was the perfect choice for the first movie because he really aced the family drama at the core of the plot. There was humor in the film, yes, but never to the detriment of the emotional scenes and the character moments.
Many criticized how "polished" his Asgard looked, but I liked it a lot, overall. It looked grandiose and alien enough.

But we've seen how much gold there is around Odin's palace - you need the shades to protect your eyes from all the sparkling of the walls. And Thor's shiny hair.
