Yep! To commemorate when the people took over the Bastille prison (which technically was a rich people prison, but whatever, it remains a symbol of the people going and winning against the soldiers representing the royal power) during the (first) french Revolution. So we have military parade and fireworks
Too bad it's on a Sunday tho, because then we don't have vacation day   |

I know !
On the other hand, I'm not very sad about it, we had SO MANY long weekends in May and I was away from work for so long when I was sick than I'm happy to get back to a normal routine without interruption  |
