For these fans of Felicity Smoak, she is their introduction to the Green Arrow comic universe and remains one of the main reasons they continue to watch the TV adaptation. In this paper, I propose that ensemble TV shows like Arrow have created popular characters that are independent of the original text they were adapted from, and as a result this has created “character fandoms” – in this case, the Felicity Smoak fandom – which serves as fans’ entry into comics that is consistently experimenting with, and incorporating transmedia and paratextual fan readings.

it's a lose-lose situation : not letting Felicity expressing her feelings is a shame, but then here we are wishing she will be allowed to react for longer than 5 minutes about losing a guy we wanted gone :lol. The best way would be if Billy's death was used as a catalysis for her to reflect about all what happened to her in the last months
