I hope so. I've checked TMP and New Girl ratings and they're mostly similar to b99.. around 2 million viewers, and they've been renewed for 3rd and 4th seasons, so I guess we're good.
Also, anyone knows when the DVR numbers come out? |

Hi everyone (super longtime lurker here ), I hope it's okay to delurk in the ratings thread lol
I've followed ratings for awhile, I seem to always like shows that have that question of cancellation around them I guess. TVbythenumbers had this article out today which is VERY promising for B99. (They aren't always accurate but they know their stuff) Of course it's still probably based on the average ratings of the 2 episodes this season, and the first ep was really high, so. But still, I'm gonna keep my eye on their predictions for FOX this year for sure. Also if you're curious about how ratings work, they explain it through some articles on that site - like why total millions of viewers aren't really important, what the share means, etc. I think generally if we can make it to a full season 3, it's good for a few more years. Because networks like a certain number of eps for syndication. I think too if there are more golden globe nominations this year, and wins!, the network will like that too. Plus they're somewhat factoring in dvr ratings as well these days which is awesome, so I'm hoping this weeks look great also! ANYWAY sorry for the ramble. Hi again, and I love reading all your thoughts on the show __________________

Thanks for the welcome guys!
I think to be considered for syndication, they need to have about 88 episodes or more (used to be closer to 100 but it's less these days). 3 seasons is generally 66-70 episodes or so for a show, so sometimes networks see shows in season 3 and think, "oh okay, we should renew for season 4 so it can meet the 88 episode guideline." And syndication = $$ and that's what they like best! Doesn't always work and it does depend on other things too (and this is all based on stuff I've read over the years and could be wrong about!), but, I think if B99 gets a season 3, season 4 and maybe more is well, maybe not certain, but VERY VERY likely. Hopefully we get more of an audience as time goes by too! __________________

Another noob question.. What is this syndication thing?
BTW, that sounds awesome! Great news.. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'd say I'm optimistic that we'll get a season 3. Tks, Amy |

That's also a reason why some shows that don't have great ratings any more, don't get cancelled after season 3 or 4 because they almost reached the required number of episodes to be picked up for syndication. __________________

Thanks for the info, Amy. I didn't know the syndication rules, but it makes sense. I think our show has a pretty good chance of reaching more than 3 seasons, especially since its backed by two Golden Globe awards.
