I thought Terry's girls were around 5 or 6 by now, but I read somewhere that Charles' kid was older than they are... so if Nikolaj is 4, I don't get it

^ good question. I'm thinking the show's plot time span is pretty similar to ours'...so around 4 years since the S1 premiere?

I think that's a pretty good guess!

Their kids are pretty close in age imo.

(Let's not talk about how the little actor for Nicolaj is DEFINITELY not 4 in real life. He looks 6 or 7 but shhh)
