Grodd Lives [1.21] - Episode Discussion [May 5th, 2015]
[1.21] GRODD LIVES ϟ EPISODE DISCUSSION ϟ  ϟ GRODD RETURNS! ϟ ϟ PROMO ϟBarry (Grant Gustin) must deal with the Reverse Flash’s (Tom Cavanagh) latest threat to a member of the group. To make matter worse, Dr. Wells unleashes Grodd on the city in order to distract Barry and the team. Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) head down into the sewers to catch Grodd but the gorilla quickly gets the upper hand after he kidnaps Joe. Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry have a heart to heart talk. ϟ REMINDERS ϟ - Be respectful. Not everyone is going to agree with you at all times. I've been suuuper anti-Grodd since before the show even premiered but man, I like the CGI in that promo, I think/hope they're gonna prove me wrong

Yeah, basically
 We're used to Planet of the Apes levels of CGI when it comes to talking gorillas and I felt like anything less than that would appear super cheesy and outdated tbh, so I was skeptical about whether they'd be able to pull it off on the budget of a CW show. It looks like they've proven me wrong though.__________________

 !I'm so psyched for this episode  . Iris, it's time to throw major shade  .I was afraid Grodd would come off as over the top or just plain ridiculous, but they're handling him well. His presence makes a lot more sense than Barry just not disarming Cold and Heatwave in the blink of an eye (yes, that still bothers me and Rogue episodes are my least favorites) .__________________

Tonight's episode was awesome!
I do like how they had Iris deal with things, she had a right to be angry and hurt and in the end she helped them. She helped them figure out the location for Grodd. Also was able to help Barry against Grodd. Grodd is terrifying, I would not want to run into him! Especially since he can take over your brain and make you do things. That is definitely not the last we will see of him. Thawne/Wells was mean to Eddie, telling him, he is the forgotten Thawne and showed him that he doesn't get the girl. He is setting up Eddie against Barry, I guess in a way for Eddie to take over while he goes back to the future  Sometimes I wonder if Thawne isn't the future Eddie, but I guess he would have told Eddie that.__________________

* Go Iris. Give everyone hell! "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed" -- I'm having a Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman flashback when Lois figured out Clark's secret identity. Lois: I'm not mad, I'm hurt Clark: And hurt is a lot worse than mad * I'm guessing Clancy Brown is voicing Grodd? Awesome! * Caitlyn/Iris bonding. Give me more of that, please. * Barry, when Iris is chewing you out, that's not the time to ask her to think about her feelings for you. * Poor Eddie. The future Thawne family is disappointed in him… and he doesn't even get the girl. Does this mean we'll see the birth of Evil!Eddie doing everything he can to "get the girl"? (um, please? Otherwise, his storyline is kind of pointless). * Hopefully Iris is going to be the one who helps Barry reach his potential on his superheroing missions now. She did a good job in today's episode "talking Barry down"  * @ King Kong Grodd.* What did Eobard unveil at the end? I want to say the Cosmic Treadmill, but it might be too early for that. __________________

There are still some gaps there...why Eobard kept Eddie for so long
and the little respect he had for his ancestor was a bit amusing felt bad for Eddie though...wonder how it impacts him Cisco was great..loved how even Iris was amused by him |

Dude what a freakin' awesome episode!
I continued to love Cisco's movie references from Planet of the Apes to Jurassic Park And Iris- man finally. I am so glad she knows, I love that she narrated the episode. And I loved her reaction to everything! Wahoo there's another girl in the Flash Lab! Her bonding with Caitlin was so perfect. Definitely want more of it. Grodd- gah I don't know what to say about him. I wasn't sure how they were going to do it but they totally pulled it off with the telekinetic ability. It was super awesome. EoThawne- I am so curious as to his plans. I'm looking forward to what he has in store. And the way he talked to Eddie got me thinking, if Eddie is so unimportant then why bother keeping him? ~*~*~ So looking forward to next week! __________________
