It seems to me that everyone is captivated by Brona. I mean look at Dorian and it was only because of her illness. Just like Ethan doesn't give a damn about being sick and kisses her/have sex with her anyway.
When she told him that they shouldn't kiss anymore, that he should keep his distance, the guy actually went to kiss her adn told her that if he gets sick then she'll take care of him. That's huge proof of what he feels for her. __________________

It was also nice to see him use the St Jude amulet she gave him to do exorcism on Vanessa. Then when business was done, he went back to Brona.
