I love the idea of a romance but I'd have taken just a friendship, too. As long as they kept deepening their bond, one way or the other.

That's the great thing about them being friends now, it can go anywhere. They weren't just introduced like "ok they're each other's love interests", which can be boring when it's the two lead characters. They're very layered

I agree. I actually hate when I feel like the writers are pushing a pairing onto me at all costs while I can't see the bond progress organically.

Good question! I guess we can just assume she wanted him for his skills, but it'd be interesting if there was an ulterior motive and if she maybe knew he wasn't 100% human.

I think finding him wasn't that hard, I bet there were posters everywhere. But did Vanessa nad Malcolm know about his past? That's the thing I hope they explore.
