my opinion was always that she didn't really love Sean, she loved the idea of belonging to stability, especially with his family. The writers made it a point to juxtapose the relationship with her mother to Sean's family. Sean was very much a characterization tool to show Juliette's deep longing for a family. When she visits her mom and tells her she is getting married to Sean, her mother sees right through it and knows it's her longing for a family. And she proposes to Sean right after his mother tells her she will never belong in their family. She never divulges anything real with Sean, and she very much kept a facade up with him because she acceptance by him and his family meant a belonging to a world she had never had, but a world she really longed for.

I mean I wouldn't argue, seriously. I like different opinions! It's just the way I see it, and the way I think the writers were trying to portray the storyline, specifically showing a connection between her and her "true love", which imo is always going to be her mother. I do understand shipping them though, they had cute moments

Every man in Juliette's life has been a characterization tool imo, from Deacon to Sean to Dante to even Avery. I love that her men tend to take a backseat to her overall depth as a character. It shows me that the writers really care about her.

and I do love that. She is a main character, it should be about her. But I only argue that her characterization should move forward, not always be so back and forth
