Chip: We have this deep, old, abiding, undeniable love.
She's the one for me. Does that always work out? Is it always the best?
...Throughout it all, throughout the mess and the trouble and the
turmoil and my damage and her problems in her family and all,
there's that thing. But that doesn't necessarily mean that
it's going to work out easily or well or whatever.
But we're both in there trying. And what we love
and what we've talked about, which is why I deign to speak for her,
is that sometimes we have these conversations in the midst
of all the trouble and all the angst and turmoil
where we just sit there and just talk to each other
and you can feel it again. You feel that connection again.
It gets broken from time to time but it's always right there and it hums.

Connie: What I love about the Deacon/Rayna relationship is
that it is a very grown up relationship. It's a relationship of
people who have a lifetime together and a history together
and as actors that's so fun to play because there's so much
dimension and depth to it and we can go in so many
different directions, you know. And we have.
There have been scenes where we can just rip each other apart
in so many ways... but there's always this foundation
between the two of them and everybody has relationships
like that in their lives and I think that that is something
that you want that. You want that familiarity and so it's really fun
to be able to explore that with these characters.

Someone posted the scenes from the last two episodes on yt :love:

Was watching their scenes starting from 315.. to think at the beginning of 315 they hadn't even spoken in weeks and now they're living together :love:

I found that 5x17/5x18 video last night and have already watched it a few times. The thing that really gets me when watching the scenes back-to-back like that is how genuinely HAPPY they both are. Rayna, especially. She is so comfortable and natural and relaxed with him and the joy just radiates from every part of her. Just look at her face when she sits on the couch and snuggles up to him and says "You're here." She just has a peaceful, contented smile on her face the entire time. Or Deacon's face during the phone call when she tells him "I'm sick of missing you" or when he says "We should think about that" during breakfast and looks at her. I seriously wonder how much of it is scripted and how much of it is just Connie and Chip being so damn relieved and happy themselves.

I do want to know if that shoulder nudge part of the breakfast scene was scripted or if that was all Connie. Is the writer of this week's episode on Twitter?

Connie does seem a lot happier since she's started filming 3B. All her interviews are so much more positive. The material she's getting to work with now is so much better than it has been in over a season. And I'm sure Will Chase is a lovely guy, but who wouldn't want to work with Chip :-)

That totally seemed like a Chip and Connie moment to me rather than a scripted one. Chip's laugh just seemed so genuine and I don't think I've seen Connie look so girly/flirtatious as Rayna before. Can't tell you how many times I've repeated that scene, that goodness for DVR!! :look:

A D/R related sneek peek for Wednesday is already out,
I know it's on the ABC site, and probably other places, too.

I was thinking about this, they've not mentioned anything yet about Rayna being tested to be the donor? I thought it would have been the first thing she would have done, so it's weird there has been no mention of it. Especially in last episode, since it had been three weeks.
