She's the one for me. Does that always work out? Is it always the best? ...Throughout it all, throughout the mess and the trouble and the turmoil and my damage and her problems in her family and all, there's that thing. But that doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to work out easily or well or whatever. But we're both in there trying. And what we love and what we've talked about, which is why I deign to speak for her, is that sometimes we have these conversations in the midst of all the trouble and all the angst and turmoil where we just sit there and just talk to each other and you can feel it again. You feel that connection again. It gets broken from time to time but it's always right there and it hums. Connie: What I love about the Deacon/Rayna relationship is that it is a very grown up relationship. It's a relationship of people who have a lifetime together and a history together and as actors that's so fun to play because there's so much dimension and depth to it and we can go in so many different directions, you know. And we have. There have been scenes where we can just rip each other apart in so many ways... but there's always this foundation between the two of them and everybody has relationships like that in their lives and I think that that is something that you want that. I'm actually going back and watching S1 stuff because I miss them so much. They only had maybe 2 minutes total - if that - on S2 of anything even close to connecting. Plus I can get my Rayna feels back watching S1.

For the most part I didn't have an issue with Rayna in S2 exactly... just sick to death of her getting pushed to the background of her own stories... H65 became all about Scarlett... somewhere midseason Callie became very seriously fixated with Luke so whatever story they were telling with Rayna took a backseat to them desperately trying to make us like Luke.. let her lead her own stories and consistently be given a pov in S3 and I should be ok
I really hope they don't drag this Luke mess out very long but I'd kinda like a Rayna/Teddy scene out of this... where he tells her that she shouldn't marry Luke, that she won't be happy... that he was married to her for a long time and there was not one day that he didn't know that she was in love with Deacon... and it won't be any different if she marries Luke __________________

You have to really be there. It doesn't work if you're lying to yourself and pretending. Obviously, these two still love each other, deeply. They owe it to each other to give it another shot, or absolutely shut the door once and for all. And WE Romantics Will Not put up with that happening |

Yeah that wasn't a promo pic. Someone (Ed I think) tweeted it during that last night of filming but it must have just been Eric and Will chatting and not from a scene.
I'd much rather Teddy have that conversation with Rayna than Luke. I need Rayna to see that marrying Luke would be a disaster and not Luke backing out because Teddy paints a not so pretty picture of what it's like to be married to Rayna when she clearly loves Deacon. Besides I don't think Teddy could care less if Luke's happy. But I do think he'd like Rayna to be happy. And despite his differences with Deacon I think he'd rather her be happy with Deacon than make their family an even more complicated mess (and still not happy) by marrying Luke. It's not as if her marrying Luke gets Deacon out of the picture now that he knows he's Maddie's father __________________
