Sandy, I hope it stays a mild case, and that you and Aysen will have mild cases, too. I assume you will test positive at some point if you test yourself, or go get tested. I hope she gets better soon

My sister got it at work from the kids, she's a kindergarten teacher. I had contact with her, so I will stay home as precaution and so far I tested negative. I wouldn't need to quarantine, and everyone else for that matter, since we're all boostered, but just to be safe all meetings are off for the next 14 days since it's most likely the omicron variant. If it isn't, quarantine for my sister's family is only 10 days, but that hard enough with 3 kids under 10...

^I will be going tomorrow or Tuesday for a test and seeing as Amaya and Aysen have the same doctor I'm guessing she'll want to test Aysen as well. I'm hoping it stays as just this as well. Poor kid has been to the doctors five times since 11/29 and this marks her fifth covid test plus she'll need one to return to school.

My cousins whose a teacher caught it from a student as well right before Christmas. Her husband, a paramedic/firefighter and their three kids also caught it. It makes sense to take precautions . I won't lie I'm a bit mad, my cousins friend dropped off her son (whom we were babysitting) even though she knows Amaya is a positive. She said her son will be fine so I've been isolating Aysen and myself to my room or the kitchen as Amaya is at my dads. Like she complains about the mask but isn't trying to stop the spread either and right now I won't lie I am beyond ticked over it. It's bad enough if and when Amaya comes upstairs I'll have to play the avoid game with her and Aysen while trying to cater to them both, I can't have this little boy on top of it as he has zero cares and won't back away Aysen or I. And it's his moms attitude of not caring that's really getting to me and I'm not one that ever says no to this child and him coming over but I don't want to see him sick or in the hospital from it.

Wow, Sandy! Sending all the positive thoughts and vibes your way.

Sandy0401 01-30-2022 09:57 PM

Thank you, Candace  I’m honestly still shocked by her results I really thought it was just a viral

Sending big hugs to you all Sandy

Sandy0401 01-31-2022 05:30 PM

Thank you, Fiona . Apparently as tomorrow is five days since Amaya's positive test she can come out of quarantine. I am however going to keep here home this week. Her doctor wants me to treat Aysen as if he has it and keep an eye on him so I'm not going to send her out and about because if he gets it by chance than she'll be home again anyways.

That sounds like the best idea Sandy, better to be more cautious than not.

Sandy0401 02-01-2022 10:14 AM

^Plus her school might require a negative test. I know in December when my manager had it my jobs policy was a negative test is needed. No idea how it goes for the schools. It changes daily and so much (just back in early January she would’ve been in a 10 day quarantine not being vaxxed and now it’s just 5 days).

Copop 02-01-2022 11:06 AM

Sandy, good thinking with keeping her home anyway

Sandy0401 02-01-2022 12:49 PM

^It is, I think anyways. They change it so much and like even my mom said a month ago it was about two weeks and now only five days and the numbers are tripling. Doesn’t make much sense to me

Copop 02-03-2022 12:55 PM

How is everyone doing?

-x-Lilac-x- 02-03-2022 01:20 PM

Good thanks! I’ve been training for a different role in my job, working as customer service advisor for the National Trust. I’m really enjoying it :D

How are you?

Copop 02-04-2022 12:04 PM

Ooh, that sounds great, Fiona :D I hope you'll enjoy it from here on out, too :D

I'm good, thanks

Sandy0401 02-04-2022 02:10 PM

Ohh that's amazing news, Fiona .

I finally got my release to work back! I go in Tuesday night for third shift :woot:.

Also I've come to the conclusion that I believe Amaya began having covid at the beginning of January. I think her itchy throat was the end of it. Looking back around the first two weeks of the month I had a horrible headache that no pain med would touch plus a fever for two days. After mine ended Amaya's started and her and my stepdad and cousin all had bad headaches at the same time. I remember keeping her home from school that Friday (she started complaining that Thursday night) but by the following Monday she was fine. I'm questioning now if it was covid and it went through my cousin, me, my stepdad and Amaya and my dad because he had a headache, body aches and a fever like two weeks later. I didn't take her to a doctor as every single time I took her I was just told it's viral but now with the positive test and her being completely fine, no issues no nothing I'm betting she had the worst of it in early January.

I had my 2nd vaccine appointment today.

The worst thing I'm experiencing is arm pain. I also feel "off" again and have slept most of the afternoon.
