I'm very excited for tomorrow's episode. One of the guest actresses said in an interview that it took a month to shoot! And we know from the behind the scenes pics they were shooting it in both mid-December and early January so that doesn't seem far off, even with the holiday break. Lots of high-profile guest stars, and it's the start of February sweeps in the U.S. which usually means good episodes. Plus it's the first episode penned by Nicole Phillips, who writes the excellent Blacklist comics. So all in all - my expectations are high! Hopefully we won't be disappointed!

Aly, it's somehow cool to see somebody going so hopeful into the new episode. I really hope you're right but it's true... All the facts you're stated are true and those could really promise something good.

What does this mean for Liz? What exactly do you mean, Believer?

Well, hmmm... I have to say I had almost no interest in the Tom/Gina story, even though objectively it wasn't badly done. I had little interest in the main story, in fact, even though the final scene between Red and Pitt was good enough to wrap it all up. I think the problem was that it felt like a means to an end because it was a means to an end.

Hm, what shall I say... Underwhelming maybe? I expected a lot more from the episode and seriously, I need more Red and Liz? What's wrong this season? Where are these magical moments? I can think of two so far and that more than sucks. I need the connection, I need the depth and it's missing completely for the whole season already. It's depressing.

But lets start with my highlight, Red's final scene, the one with Josephine! Damn it, I could have cried. I'm really not sure if I ever saw Red that broken. It almost killed me!
And of course the moment he is with Alistair at the end. Brilliant moment and I loved it sooo much Red again was awesome!

Liz and her adoption plans... I'm really wondering what she is going to do now. It was clear before that it would be hard, right? An open adoption for a person that used to be one of the most wanted criminals in the FBI history? A person who shot the Attorney General? Yeah, what can I say, it was to be expected.
But her getting the news at the end and realizing her options almost broke my heart. It was so sad.

The case though was boring and it took too much screen time! Lately the blacklisters lose their appeal to me.

Gina and Tom... I was so looking forward to Gina being back but it was underwhelming again. So she's working for the Major, I'm not sure who brought it over here at some point but the person really was right And the Major is still hunting down Tom and isn't able to find him via Liz? Wow, that's bad Besides, Gina indeed was Tom's lover but he dumped her for Liz. We don't know when exactly but I'm glad to hear that Red wasn't lying in season 1.

Samar... Wow, I didn't know she was still seeing her ex. WTH? She still loved him? Really? She loved him, she made moony-eyes towards Aram and slept with Ressler. Hm, I'd say this woman really is damaged as well.

Dembe has a broken arm?

Oh, and don't even let me start with Aram?! First of all he kind of indicated that Liz should forgive Tom out of love... Wow, I did never expect that from Aram. Second, him starting this hook-up topic while on a mission...

Besides, why did Alistair not realize that Samar was around three times when he was doing his business? I'm sure that he saw her when they were all three first meeting in that diner or whatever it was... And then she was standing outside of the room he was meeting one of the fathers the whole time and second she was at the wedding... Hm, strange, right? I really thought there'd come something else.

Liz saving Red though was cool I don't like her mood on him lately. Yeah, it's always Red why her baby would be endangered. Seriously, we got proof that the Major is still after Tom so it counts for him the same

Was anybody else annoyed by the DEA guy?

I agree - very underwhelming/disappointing episode.

I loved Tony Shaloub and the dogs. I would have enjoyed MORE of Shaloub and the dogs. But other than that? I guess I had high expectations for development among the characters we know and love - and I felt we didn’t get that.

I was very disappointed that the whole task force apparently found out off screen about the pregnancy before the episode started. I feel like we should have seen those reactions. Samar gushing about baby registries and girl bonding with Liz? It felt off to me. I have never seen those characters as particular friends.

The DEA guy annoyed me - but what annoyed me more was that Ressler heard him say Comrade Rostova a whole bunch of times and said nothing after the first time in the park. But I didn't catch in the end where the shot came from that killed the DEA guy or who put the gun in the ice. I need to go back and rewatch that part.

Ressler did have a couple of funny lines - of course he hates lap dogs. Wonder what he will think of the new Hudson if he ever meets him? And his line to Samar about asking if Liz registered for common sense was great.

Tom and Gina were a bit underwhelming for me. I wasn't as impressed by her as I was the last time she was in the show.

Red's scenes with Josephine were lovely.

In terms of mythology, we learned from Red that Katarina Rostova was alive when Liz was given to Sam. That's interesting.

Dembe's injury is a real-life Hisham rotator cuff injury based on a picture he posted after the episode.

It wasn't a bad episode but it wasn't really good either. It was neutral.

Why does everybody know that Liz is pregnant and we didn't get to see her telling them?! No reactions whatsoever! I really wanted to see Ressler first reaction. I was surprised that Samar was so happy and into Liz being pregnant. Why would that be? I loved the scene between Liz and Samar where Liz asked Samar what's wrong and she told Liz about Levi and Liz told her about the adoption. I didn't know that Samar kept seeing Levi after Zal Bin Hasaan. If she was hooking up with him why the hell sleep with Ressler?!

I really loved Gina being back but I expected it to be more explosive and surprising and it wasn't really but I did really like the scenes between Tom and Gina. They would make a good couple. They are both badass. When she gave him the glasses! S1 Tom was instantly back! I loved seeing that side of him again and him pretending to be FBI was hilarious.

Dembe's sling in the episode was real cause Hisham tore his. rotator cuff. He posted it on IG.

Ressler and Liz. Little by little they are working together more and more and I love it. I loved them together in the park but because of the BTS pics we got of Diego and Megan, I expected to much of it but still good scenes. "She is just a pregnant lady taking photos."

Josefine and Red. Can you say love interest?! I am sure they were romantically involved. I wish she would have let Red protect her then she wouldn't have been assaulted by her fiance.

The blacklister was weird. Did he really think he could get the two families to stop their feud? I still don't really know what his motive was. And what was it about the final scene with him and Red? Did he do something to Josephine?

I was so annoyed by that guy! The way he kept calling Liz "Comrade Rostova" annoyed me to my core! I am glad that Red shot him! I wonder why Ressler didn't say anything to this guy when kept calling Liz that. I am sure he though that she could handle it but I would have liked to see him stand up for her.

Aly, great to see that you agree. So I'm not imagining things... At least something.

Tony Shaloub really was great. And these dogs The one which's tongue was hanging out all the time. It really cracked me up

Oh yes, all of that! It's as if we are watching a different show lately, isn't it? I don't know why but somehow they completely lost track with their characters.

The shot came from the red wedding room...

I don't really know what's been going on with these two but you are so right!

That's interesting for me, too! The question is if she knows that her daughter was brought to Sam and agreed to it or if Red smuggled Liz out there and (hopefully) saved her from her mother.

Maybe about 80% of the episode was "less than stellar" but that doesn't even matter to me because what was at the heart of the episode, Red's heart, in fact, was so beautifully tragic that this episode will probably rank among my favourites for a long time coming. I really loved seeing this side of Red. We've known of some of his past relationships (Naomi, Madeline, etc.) but we've never seen him in love before and just left completely broken like he was at the end. Ugh. It killed me.

Also, Red didn't shoot the DEA agent. You can't tell who shot him but it came from the main room where the wedding was held, off to the side. Red laughed in a "well, karma's a bitch" sort of way, but he didn't actually shoot him. And neither did (or would!) Ressler. He might be an annoying pain, but he's still a DEA agent. If Red had shot him (which, I don't even think he would, he really only seems to shoot/kill dirty cops/agents or maybe if the guy were to actually threaten to kill either him or Liz or someone from their team, then maybe) then he would've been in a whole world of trouble with Liz, as well as Cooper and the whole task force. I could have seen Red (or Dembe?) cracking the guy in the back of the head with the butt of his pistol just to knock him out and shut him up for a few seconds, but not kill him. Come to think of it, I would have preferred that I think Dembe just appearing behind him, wacking him on the head then shrugging his shoulders at Red as the agent slumps to the floor

Samar seemed soooooo OOC for me with the whole baby thing. If anyone, I could see Aram more in that position than Samar, but w/e I think they just wanted to make it more dramatic for Liz to reveal that she plans on giving the baby up.

And speaking of Aram... Ugh. Poor cinnamon roll. He just can't catch a break with Samar.
