I think it depends on if we get a season four. If we do I think they'll push up the release date so it will be out before the new season starts.

Horrible horrible news! I love this show, it can't go away! They need to at least give us a movie to tie everything up!

It was to be expected. The ratings weren't that good.

I am not surprised either. It was nice to see Larry Hagman one last time as JR Ewing and seeing Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray as Bobby and Sue Ellen.

The writing was on the wall. But still sad to see it go. I would have liked at least one more season to tie up loose ends. But yes at least we got to see Patrick/Linda/Larry again, and the rest of the originals. I think it would have stood a better chance if it didn't forget about the Ewings this season. The first two seasons were amazing though. ...and it ends with JR still getting the one up on Cliff!

I can't say I am sad it's gone because I wasn't planning to watch s4. I just wish they hadn't gone so far off the rails on s3

Not surprised at all, really with that ending and bad ratings it was to be predicted.

I'm not surprised at all. A Ramos/Mexican cartel focused season was never going to be a hit and the decline in viewership proved that. Having heard Cidre's plans for season four I'm just glad it was canned now before she could do more damage.
It's a shame because she had such a good thing going at the beginning. __________________

The two storylines that mostly drove people away were: Elena's ridiculous revenge storyline (which still doesn't completely make sense) and having John Ross cheat with Emma. Then on top of those plots, drag them out for entirely too long, particularly the cheating one. That did not need to go on for 8 episodes. 3 or 4 tops was more than sufficient.
The huge ratings drop off came between ep 1 and ep 2 of S3. All we saw during that episode was Elena with Nicolas and forming her revenge and John Ross and Emma sleeping together. So 40% of the show's audience between the ages of 18-49 left and never returned, according to the ratings. |
