They worked well together in the beginning. She definitely loved him, even if it was all a scam in the beginning.

It did.

It didn't send either one over the deep end but it did alter their characters, both became...I don't know if I want to use the term harder...but it's the only word I can think of at the moment. More guarded and vulnerable.

I think they both became more guarded, but at the same time Christopher became needy at the same time. He became extra attracted to Heather because she had a son, and he had this need to fill a hole the babies left in his heart.
