Idk I still don't think they're as close as they were before. Yeah, they had them make up, but they've gradually been drifting apart. For example, old Cristina never had the courtesy to leave Meredith and Derek be, but in 10x14 she left when Derek came home. We've been commenting how there really hasn't been a lot of Mertina interaction in 10b, truly (well, there hasn't been a whole lot of anything in 10b because the cast is bloated and they're trying to give everyone equal screen time which equates to very little screen time for everyone). But still, Mertina had more storyline last episode than they have all season, and the entire sl was about how they were drifting apart tbh. They didn't talk to each other at all when Cristina was in Zurich. Yes, because of time zones, but there's only a 9 hour time difference. If they really wanted to talk each other, they could have. The point is they're not as close as they were.

I don't think the fight in 10a was completely useless, but maybe it's because I had a fight like that with my best friend before we severed contact. We fought and didn't talk to each other for weeks, then we made up and acted like nothing had happened, though deep down I didn't trust my friend like I did before because of the hurtful things that had been said. Eventually, I graduated college, and we broke off contact after that. It's sort of what's going on with Mertina now.

They are very different than they were before. They have/choose different lifestyles.. but still it's going to be hard for Meredith next season.. without her bestfriend for 10 seasons (GA timeline years)

She does! I wish they would've spent more time on the resolution of their fight. They were on their way to really going in-depth about it, and then Kepner started screeching about it being her wedding day.
